European Carrier Award and European Carrier Day

To promote competition among service providers and to reward the partner with the best service performance, once a year Daimler awards the European Carrier Award (ECA) for transporting Passenger Cars and Commercial Vehicles in Europe. For special services, a so-called Special Award can also be given. The assessment methodology for the ECA takes into account the key performance indicators aggregated over four quarters as well as the individual service provider profile.

At the beginning of the year, the service providers are requested to register for the award process (matriculation). The resulting assessment process has a time frame:

• The assessment period for the KPIs is the third quarter of the previous year to the second quarter of the current year (exception KPI Damage: second quarter of the previous year to the first quarter of the current year).
• The self-assessment takes place in May.
• The surveys are taken in June.
• The structure audits are concluded in September.
• It supplements the overall assessment.
• In October a jury decides on the award winner.
• The awards are presented at the European Carrier Day (ECD) towards the end of the year.

In addition to the award, at the ECD Daimler presents its European service providers and customers developments and projects, and offers a platform for an open exchange of information. The event takes place at various locations of the Group on an annual basis.
